Angelina Ballerina

A few weeks ago I took Miss 3 to the ballet. The New Zealand Ballet had brought a production of Angelina Ballerina to Brisbane. It was a BIG thing for Miss 3 to go, firstly because, well, she’s only 3.
Also, she adores Angelina Ballerina, partly because Miss 3 has been doing tiny tots ballet lessons for the last year, but mostly I think because Angelina’s best little mouseling friend is called Alice, and Alice is also the name of Miss 3’s best friend. Sometimes I think my daughter believes she actually IS Angelina.
The performance was wonderful. It wasn’t overly lengthy, which was perfect for us, and Miss 3 behaved herself throughout which is always a relief. I forked out $20 for a program, which I thought was probably a bit steep, and seeing as it was a very special occasion, I bought a shiny, plastic tiara for my little princess.

Said tiara barely left her head for the next 48 hours as she twirled and leaped her way through the rest of the week. A couple of days later, we had a play date with some friends, and I suggested it might not be the best idea to take the tiara with us, because it might get broken, or left behind. That’s when she asked me where we kept our safe. As you know, all extremely precious jewellery needs to be kept in a safe. I could barely wait until she ran off to play before cracking up with laughter over that one.
If you look closely at the pic of her tiara, you will no doubt see that it is missing a few bits and pieces. Luckily for us, she doesn’t mind, but I have been assured that if I need to replace it, they are $2 at the cheap shop.

If you have a princess, ballerina, or fairy that loves getting dressed up, take a look at our gorgeous Pure Poppet make up kit. They are made in Australia and are perfect for young, sensitive skin because they are made from only natural ingredients. http://www.tenlittleindians.com.au/Pure ... rge-p.html

Back to school

Most Queensland children start back at school this week, and most Queensland mothers breathe a collective sigh of relief. We all love our children, but isn’t it nice when you can clean the house and it actually looks clean for a few hours rather than a few minutes?!!?

I love the start of a school year. I love all the shiny shoes with pulled up socks. I love all the neatly covered books. Actually, call me strange but I love covering the books as well. I love the new prep kids in their too-big uniforms with their oversized backpacks. I love that on the first day of school, all the little girls have neat hair and matching ribbons.

My little girl starts Kindy (Pre-Prep) for the first time tomorrow so we have a mix of nerves and excitement here. I LOVE doing Miss 3’s hair in cute styles (always pulled back though, because there is something icky and crawly about school and hair that I do NOT like) and I love looking at this Facebook Page for inspiration https://www.facebook.com/CuteGirlsHairstyles?sk=wall
I’m definitely not up to that level, but some of the hairstyles are amazing and I am constantly in awe of how those little girls sit still for so long.

We’ve got some great hair ties, clips and accessories in the store right now. I adore the Oobi Red Apple headband http://www.tenlittleindians.com.au/Oobi ... ple-p.html and the Penny Scallan Hair Accessories pack is great too. Lots of goodies in the one pack. http://www.tenlittleindians.com.au/Penn ... wer-p.html

I’m looking forward to tomorrow though. I am not working so for the first time in almost 8 years , at 9am I will have some ‘me’ time. I wonder what to do? Maybe see a movie that doesn’t have Muppets or Chipmunks as the main characters. That’s if I’m not a blithering mess...
